Chris Rocky Mountain Multisport

Chris

Hello, I’m Chris Sheehan, a Retul-certified bike fitter with over 13 years of experience using the Retul 3D motion capture system, as well as decades of experience in the cycling industry. Originally from San Jose, California, I’m thrilled to return to Colorado, where I previously lived for 10 years, now making it home again with my wife, Karen, and our 7-year-old son, George. As a returning resident, I am eager to reconnect with Northern Colorado’s vibrant cycling community.

My cycling journey began at the age of 13, when I started racing road, track, cyclocross, and mountain bikes in Northern California. By 17, I joined the Plymouth-Reebok team, where I won a stage in the Tour of Oregon and raced in the Tour de l’Avenir. Following some strong results in the Tour of Texas, I was invited to race in Europe with the U.S. National Team. In 1992, I signed with Team Saturn and later raced in the Tour of Mexico and the Tour DuPont alongside some of the world’s best cyclists. I was racing against my childhood idols like Tour de France winners Greg LeMond and Laurent Fignon. After my years with Saturn, I moved to Colorado and transitioned to professional mountain bike racing in the NORBA series and World Cups. After retiring from bike racing, I went to the University of Colorado at Boulder to earn a degree in finance.

After a stint in corporate America, I relocated from Colorado to Charlotte, NC, where I owned and operated my own bike shop, focusing on bike fitting, training, and engaging the community in the love of cycling.

When I was racing, I relied on trial-and-error bike adjustments to dial in the ideal fit. Over the years, I have seen how proper fitting can transform a rider’s experience in the form of comfort, efficiency, and speed. This experience drives my passion for Retul’s cutting-edge 3D motion capture technology, which I use to deliver precise, data-driven fits that optimize power, performance, and comfort. I enjoy fitting cyclists of all levels/abilities, genders, and disciplines to address your unique needs and answer all your questions to the best of my ability. Customers find me to be patient and a good listener, which results in a truly customized fit rather than the application of standard metrics without regard for individual physiology.

I’m excited to be part of the Fort Collins cycling scene and hope to share some of my knowledge and experience while also learning from a community that clearly knows and loves the bike.
